Nasarawa State Government has earmarked two billion Naira for disbursement as Bursary allowance for indigene Students Studying in various tertiary institutions of Learning across the Country.
Governor Abdullahi Sule announced this during the Symbolic presentation of cheques for the 2023/ 2024 Bursary allowance to over sixteen thousand indigene Students at the College of Education Akwanga, Nasarawa State.

beneficiaries, Governor Abdullahi Sule described education as key and one of the cardinal objectives of societal growth and development, and as such, his administration had continued to focus particular attention on the sector to ensure speedy growth and development of the state..
While urging the beneficiaries to use the funds for their educational pursuit, the Governor explained that his administration would continue to sponsor indigent students studying in various tertiary institutions across the Country and abroad.
State Commissioner for Education, Doctor John Mamman, who enumerated several interventions of the State Government in the education sector, noted that the measure has recorded numerous achievements that made the state stand tall among its peers in the Country.
Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Scholarship Board, Hajiya Sa’adatu Yahay, explained that after rigorous screening by the Board for the 2023 2024 bursary allowance, a total of sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty-six students were successful in benefiting from the bursary allowance disbursement.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, President Nasarawa State Students Association, NASSA, Comrade Abimiku Obey, acknowledged the relentless effort of Governor Abdullahi Sule to education, especially the disbursement of bursary allowance to students across the state.
The NASSA president, however, called for increased funding to students studying in various institutions in the State to enable them to pursue their studies vigorously.
