The Kogi State House of Assembly has officially sworn in Mr. Hassan Shado Musa as the new member representing Okura State Constituency.
The swearing-in ceremony was held during the Assembly’s first plenary session following its legislative recess.
Mr. Hassan Ichado Musa, who won the recent by-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), takes over from the late Hon. Enema Paul, who represented the constituency in the 8th Assembly.
Administering the oath of office, the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Ahmed Chogudo, formally inducted the new lawmaker, signifying his official assumption of duties as a member of the 8th Assembly.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the House, Alhaji. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, congratulated Mr. Musa on his victory and charged him to serve his people with dedication, humility, and accountability.
The Speaker commended the people of Okura Constituency for their steadfast support for the All Progressives Congress,APC, describing their decision at the polls as a reaffirmation of trust in the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the APC-led administration in Kogi State.
He also urged all lawmakers to rededicate themselves to their core legislative responsibilities, stressing the importance of prioritizing the welfare of their constituents.
Alhaji. Yusuf further praised Governor Ododo for implementing people-oriented policies that have improved governance and strengthened the ruling party’s popularity across the state.
In his response, Hassan Shado Musa expressed gratitude to God, his constituents, and the Assembly leadership for their support and warm reception.
He pledged to represent the people of Okura Constituency with integrity and commitment, and to work collaboratively with his colleagues to advance the development of Kogi State.
