Corps employers in Nasarawa State have been enjoined to accept Corps members posted to them with better welfare to enable them to contribute to the overall socioeconomic development of the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule made the call during the closing ceremony of Batch B stream two corps members at the Magaji Dan Yamusa NYSC Orientation Camp in Keffi Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Sule having congratulated the corps members on their successful graduation and mobilization into the National Youth Service Corps, commended their discipline and patriotic spirit throughout the three-week orientation exercise at the Magaji Dan Yamusa NYSC Camp in Keffi.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Yakubu Kwanta, the Governor urged corps employers across Nasarawa State to create a supportive and skill-enabling environment that will foster self-reliance and contribute to national development.
The State Co-ordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs. Salamatu Muhammad, disclosed that two thousand and eighty-eight (2,088) corps members have been deployed across the state to positively impact their host communities.
She advised them to steer clear of political involvement, avoid night travel, and use social media responsibly to promote unity and progress in both the state and the country.
Some Corps members: John Adewale and Aisha Ibrahim pledged to uphold good conduct and serve their host communities with dedication and purpose.
With their deployment to various places of primary assignment, it is hoped that these corps members will play a vital role in driving community development initiatives across Nasarawa State.
