Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC Nasarawa State Command, has inaugurated 300 operatives of Agro Rangers and a Crack Squad.
Inaugurating the operatives at the command headquarters in lafia, the state Commandant of the Corps Samson Umoru Brah noted that the creation of the two squads was a strategic move aimed at boosting its operational capacity towards effective tackling of emerging security challenges across the state.
Samson Brah explained that the Agro Rangers would focus on protecting farmers, herders, farmlands, and the entire agricultural value chain to ensure food security, while the Crack Squad would serve as a Rapid Response unit.
He charged the operatives to be diligent and exhibit high sense of integrity,discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
While stressing that the safety of citizens remains Paramount, Commandant Samson Brah also urged them to be vigilant, proactive, and dedicated to their responsibilities.
“You have been carefully selected and you will undergo rigorous training in due course to make you combat-ready for the task ahead. I expect you to live up to the confidence reposed in you by demonstrating utmost commitment, teamwork, and respect for human rights while safeguarding lives and property “. The Commandant emphasized.
The NSCDC Boss reiterated the commitment of the Corps to working in synergy with other security agencies and stakeholders to ensure sustainable peace, security and socio-economic stability in Nasarawa state.
The inauguration of the 300 operatives marks another milestone in efforts by the command to strengthen internal security in line with the state government’s push for lasting peace and adequate security of the lives and property of citizens.
