The Kogi State House of Assembly has called on relevant Government agencies and contractors handling the ongoing construction of the 23-kilometre Ogane-Inigu road in Dekina Local Government Area to ensure its timely completion and strict adherence to quality construction standards.
The call followed a motion moved by the member representing Dekina/Biraidu State Constituency, Ochidi Usman Shehu, during plenary in Lokoja.
Ochidi commended Governor Usman Ododo for initiating what he described as a landmark project that would transform the socio-economic life of the people of Dekina/Biraidu and neighboring communities.
He emphasized the need for proper supervision and quality assurance to ensure the road serves its purpose for generations to come.
Ruling on the motion, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly Aliyu Umar Yusuf, lauded Governor Ododo ‘s commitment to rural development and inclusive governance.
The Speaker stressed the importance of delivering quality infrastructure that reflects value for money and the trust reposed in government by the people.
The motion was unanimously adopted by members, who also commended the Ododo administration for spreading development across the state, while urging contractors to ensure timely and durable completion of all ongoing projects.
