The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has assured defectors from other political parties of equal opportunities within its ranks.
The assurance was given by the APC Zonal Chairman for Kogi East Senatorial District, Hassan Ogwu, during a defection rally held in Imane community, Olamaboro Local Government Area.
Ogwu described the recent influx of new members into the APC as a “harvest of defectors,” attributing the development to President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing developmental strides and the visionary leadership of Governor Usman Ododo.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onu Edoka, who organized the rally, said the APC had become the dominant political force in Kogi State, as members of opposition parties continued to join the ruling party in large numbers.
He noted that Governor Ododo’s inclusive and people-oriented leadership style had endeared him to many, leading to the growing wave of defections.
Leading the defectors, Mr. Ben Adaji and Dr. Mohammed Edoka said politics was dynamic and progressive, adding that Governor Ododo’s leadership qualities inspired their decision to join the APC.
