Nasarawa state Command of Nigeria Forest Security Service, NFSS says it will strengthen forest security operations to ensure safety of communities across forest zones and ungoverned spaces within the State.
The new State Commander of NFSS, Comrade Titus Rabo stated this in Lafia during a change of command from his predecessor, Doctor Iliya Sule who has been redeployed to the Anti Illegal Mining Department at the headquarters of the service, Abuja.Addressing officers and men of the Commander, Comrade Titus Rabo expressed commitment to intensifying intelligence gathering and curbing illegal mining activities that birth insecurity.
He called on personnel of the service to demonstrate high level of discipline, professionalism and absolute loyalty to the government towards uplifting the service to standard of operational excellence.Assistant Commander General, Crime and Investigation, ACG Joel Daniel Gimba pledged support to the Nasarawa State Command of NFSS to stand out as a rallying point in the State’s security architecture towards addressing challenges posed by unknown state actors using forests as launch pads for terrorising communities.
ACG Daniel Gimba charged Local Government Area Commanders along border flash points to scale up collaborative efforts, surveillance among other proactive measures aimed at protecting lives and property.
Earlier, NFSS out gone State Commander, Doctor Iliya Sule represented by the Assistant Commander Administration, Ifeanyi Sunday Chima urged the new State Commander to remain professional in addressing challenges confronting the command.
