Plans are underway to establish the Plateau State Law Reform Commission in accordance with modern practices aimed at overhauling the system and ensuring speedy dispensation of justice .
This was made known by Governor Caleb Mutfwang during the swearing in ceremony of the new Acting Grand Khadi of the State Sharia Court of Appeal, held at the Victoria Gowon Hall, Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
Delivering an address, Governor Mutfwang said the law reform committee is expected to work wholistically to transform all aspects of the justice system in the State to conform with modern standards for speedy dispensation of justice.

Mutfwang who underscored the importance of the justice system in promoting peaceful coexistence pledged to ensure that retired judges are accorded their respective privileges.
He emphasized the need to ensuring that all vacant positions in the judiciary are occupied to lessen the work load of judges, describing the occasion as a milestone in strengthening the judiciary in line with constitutional provisions.

Responding, the Acting Grand Khadi, Justice Tijanni Zololo Appreciated God for the privilege and thanked the Judicial Service Commission for the approval.

The Swearing in of a new Acting Grand Khadi for the State Sharia Court followed the demise of the previous Khadi Justice Umar Abdullahi.
