The Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Josiah Majebi, has unveiled the official enforcement outfit of the Directorate of Process of the High Court of Justice, as part of efforts to improve public awareness and address misconceptions about court enforcement officers.
Justice Majebi said the initiative became necessary due to recurring misunderstandings by members of the public regarding the identity and lawful duties of men and women of the enforcement arm of the court.

Unveiling the new outfit at the Judiciary Headquarters in Lokoja, the Chief Judge explained that the uniform, clearly branded with the name of the institution on both the T-shirt and fez cap would eliminate claims of ignorance and curb resistance to officers performing legitimate court functions.
According to him, the initiative, driven by the Deputy Chief Registrar of the Directorate of Process, Mr. Samuel Salami, could not have come at a better time, especially when clear and distinctive identification of law enforcement personnel has become increasingly important.
Justice Majebi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to institutional reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency, professionalism, and continuity within the state judiciary.
He noted that the decision to separate the Process Unit from the Litigation Department and elevate it to a full Directorate has yielded positive results, citing improved performance and higher professional standards.
He asserted that similar reforms across other directorates have contributed significantly to better operational outcomes within the High Court.
The Chief Judge further disclosed that the establishment of directorates, each supervised by designated Judges, was intended to foster stronger collaboration, improve problem-solving mechanisms, and ensure continuity in judicial administration.
Commending the leadership and staff of the Process Directorate, Justice Majebi praised their diligence, transparency, and resilience, particularly in the discharge of duties often associated with high risk.
He also revealed plans to establish additional directorates, including independent ICT and Security directorates, subject to the availability of funds, to further strengthen court operations and internal security.
Justice Majebi urged all departments within the judiciary to adopt innovative and distinctive initiatives that promote unity, professionalism, and a strong institutional identity both within and outside the judicial system.
