The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs. Salamatu Muhammad, gave the charge during the low-key closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course held in Keffi.

Mrs Salamatu explained that over the past three weeks, corps members have undergone physical, moral, and professional training designed to instill discipline, patriotism, and self-reliance, noting that since the commencement of the orientation course, there has been no casualty recorded in any of the camp activities undertaken by the corps members and camp officials. She added that the occasion celebrates not only a successful orientation exercise, but also the birth of a new commitment to national unity and development by young Nigerians.
The State Co-ordinator of the scheme further encouraged the Corps Members to actively participate in community development service, CDS projects and other programmes that will positively impact their host communities.
She appreciated the government and people of Nasarawa State for their continued support to the scheme, which she said has contributed significantly to the growth of the NYSC in the state.
Mrs Salamatu Muhammad urge them to avoid doing that which may jeopardize their safety and the prosperity of the country, stressing that their activities should be geared at self-improvement as well as promotion of peace, unity and prosperity of the nation.
The NYSC State Co-ordinator enjoined them to always take their complaints and issues to the Zonal and Local Government Inspectors who are also available to them should the need arises.
