Plateau State Government says it remains committed to sustaining peace and ensuring that insecurity does not undermine the relative calm currently being enjoyed across the state.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang stated this during a condolence visit to families of victims killed by unknown gunmen in Dorowa Babuje, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
The Plateau state Governor, represented by Deputy Governor Ngo Josephine Piyo, visited Dorowa Babuje and Jong communities to commiserate with grieving families.
Mutfwang who said government was aware of the unfortunate incident and shares in the pain of the victims’ families,stressed that his administration does not show favouritism to any group but supports all residents irrespective of tribe or religion.

The Governor assured that security agencies have been mandated to track down the perpetrators and ensure they face justice.
He urged youths to remain vigilant and security conscious and cautioned against taking the law into their hands or blocking roads.
In a remark, Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Mr. Stephen Pwajok, appreciated security agencies for their swift intervention in tackling the situation.

Special Adviser to the governor of Non Governmental Organizations, Abubakar Kanam, said government remains concerned about the welfare of all citizens and urged people to be peacemakers and support government efforts at all levels.
In a remark, the Gwom Rwei of Barkin Ladi, Da Edward Gyang, described the events of the past few days as unfortunate, noting that such crises hinder development in the area and appealed to residents to sheath their swords and embrace peace so that normalcy and progress can return to the community.

Also speaking, CAN Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government, Reverend Samson Dido, emphasized the need for religious tolerance.
At Jong community, Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN Barkin Ladi, Alhaji Tambari Gizo, thanked government for identifying with the people in their time of grief and called on residents to let go of past experiences and embrace peaceful coexistence.

Cash donations was presented to families of the victims to cushion their hardship.
