Women and Youths have been challenged to actively participate in politics and always demand good governance from their representatives.
Program Officer, Good Governance, Caritas Nigeria, a non Governmental Organisation, Mr Jude Akwo stated this at a town Hall meeting held at Barkin-Ladi and mangu Local Government Areas.
The meeting featured presentation of a Community Charter of Demand for accessible and equitable Justice for women and Youth.

Caritas Nigeria is a non Governmental Organisation founded by Catholic Agency for Overseas Development, CONFOD, geared towards enlightening Women and Youths groups in policy making, participation in governance, community mobilisation for civic engagement as well as accountability, participation in peace building and community development.
It also aimed at strengthening support for gender equity and a response to gender based violence.
The Program Officer, Good Governance, Caritas Nigeria, Mr Jude Akwo explained that the concept of Charter Demand was put together by representatives of Youths and women leaders, Religious and Traditional leaders as well as stakeholders to chart a way of demanding for stewardship by the political actors.
He enumerated some areas of attention to include, education, health, Agriculture and security.
He noted that Mangu and Barkin ladi local government Areas among others have experienced a lot of security challenges which resulted to loss of lives and property hence the need for political actors to address the plight of the people for national growth.
The Chairman Mangu local government area, Mr Emmanuel molpun, represented by the Council chairman, Mr Tongpan Yusuf appreciated the Organisation for some developmental projects in the council and promised to work closely with them for more impectful projects.
The senior District Head of Gindiri, Tanko Yelwa represented by Yakubu sallamu and acting Gwom Gassa, Da James Dung thanked the Caritas Nigeria for the Enlightenment program stressing that they would educate their people on the need to always demand for good governance from their representatives.
Some stakeholders at the occasion commended the organization for the initiative.
The programs featured presentation of the Charter Demand document to participants and signing of the Charter Demand by the representatives of some politicians.
