Kogi State contingents to the 3rd National Para Games in Abuja have expressed confidence in their ability to secure medals for the state as they make their debut at the competition.
The athletes, who are participating in the games for the first time, displayed high morale and optimism ahead of the sporting event holding at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
Speaking on behalf of the team, captain Sunday Miracle said the contingent was well-prepared and determined to make a strong impression, expressing hope for a successful outing at the games.
He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, for their support and belief in the team’s potential.

Earlier, the Director of Kogi State Sports Council, Mr. James Igah Abel, urged the athletes to justify the confidence reposed in them by striving to win medals and make the state proud.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, represented by the Director of Sports Development in the ministry, Mr. Aje Paul, assured the team of the state government’s backing and encouraged them to give their best.
He reiterated Governor Ododo’s commitment to inclusive development, noting that the state’s participation in the games reflects that vision, while charging the athletes to be worthy ambassadors of the State.
