Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has officially handed over the construction of the state’s international airport to contractors, marking the commencement of the project.
Speaking at the project site in Zariagi, Adavi Local Government Area, the governor described the airport as a strategic infrastructure aimed at unlocking the state’s vast economic potential.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Transportation, Victor Atuluku, Governor Ododo said the project would drive economic transformation and boost infrastructure development in the state.
He noted that upon completion, the airport would attract both local and foreign investments, create employment opportunities, and enhance socio-economic activities across the state.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the timely completion of the project and urged the contractors to adhere to global standards and deliver within schedule.
He also called on the host community to cooperate with the contractors, assuring investors of adequate security as the government continues efforts to protect lives and property and promote sustainable development.
