The Nigeria Climate Adaptation Erosion and Watershed Management Project-European Investment Bank assisted NEWMAP-EIB in Nasarawa state is to embark on sensitization campaign on safer environmental practices to riverine communities across the state.
State Project Coordinator of NEWMAP-EIB Doctor Mohammed Ismail dropped the hint at a stakeholders meeting organized by the Red Cross Society to find ways of mitigating erosion,ensuring recovery and resilience of affected communities held in lafia the state capital.
Doctor Ismail who was represented by the Project Communication Officer, Muazu Madaki reiterated the commitment of the European Investment Bank Assisted Project towards mitigating environmental challenges in the state.
He explained that the stakeholders meeting was in line with the project development objectives of NEWMAP EIB which include,Erosion control and Watershed management,Livelihood improvements and capacity building.
The stakeholders meeting drew participants from Federal Road Safety Corps,Federal Fire Service,NSCDC the Media and Non governmental organizations..
