The value of cleaners, drivers and security men in public service are often neglected and unnoticed in some quarters despite their crucial role in maintaining productivity.
To change the narrative, the Nasarawa State Chief Judge Justice Aisha Usman Bashir organized a special workshop in Lafia to recognize the value of the cleaners, drivers and security men working in the State judiciary.
Justice Aisha Usman who emphasized the important role of cleaners, drivers and security men in making the working environment safe for all workers noted that they deserved special recognition.
While charging them to be more dedicated to duty, Justice Aisha Usman vowed to prioritize their welfare.
Secretary of the State Judiciary Service Commission, Mr. Yahaya Yakubu Shafa pointed out that the need to shift attention from principal officers to the cleaners, drivers and security men became imperative because of their significant role in making sure that Judges and other staff members are comfortable doing their jobs.
Two resource persons, Mrs. Ramatu Idris and Mrs. Lydia Shahu described the cleaners, drivers and security men as the unseen personalities that maintain productivity in the state Judiciary.
A cleaner and two security men, Dorathy Matthew, Abdulsalam Musa and Jika Williams appreciated the state chief Judge for giving them a sense of belonging.
They promised to redouble their efforts in carrying out their primary responsibilities.
The workshop put together by the State Judiciary Service Commission under the theme “The unsung heroes of the Nasarawa State Judiciary: Recognizing the value of cleaners, drivers and security men provided opportunity for the staff members to improve their fraternity and job skills.
