The dualization of the Makurdi Ninth Mile Enugu Road by China Harbour Engineering Company, CHEC will be completed before the end of twenty twenty seven.
Minister of Works, Engineer Dave Umahi gave the assurance in Makurdi at the inauguration of the Wurukum Flyover, which is an additional section of the road.



Engineer Umahi stated that the road which is a five hundred and twenty kilometer dual carriage way when completed will transform and stimulate economic activities in Benue, Enugu and other parts of the South East.
On the flyover, the Minister of Works noted that, although initially not part of the road, President Bola Tinubu added it as a gift to Benue State following the request from Governor Hyacinth Alia.
Governor Alia while inaugurating the flyover on behalf of the President expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for the projects, maintaining that the road would enhance trade and agriculture for the people.
The Managing Director of China Harbour Engineering Limited, CHEC Engineer Jason Wang said with the support of the Governor Alia and Engineer Umahithe project would be delivered within the specified period.
Federal Controller of Works in Benue, Engineer Danladi Mukaila stated that with compensation fully paid by the State Government for the flyover and the road, the contractor would have no excuse to complete the project within the time frame given to him by the Federal Government.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development, Engineer Donald Ikyaaza and Technical Adviser on infrastructure to the Governor, Engineer Mlumun Ikpahindi noted that the flyover would beautify the town and address traffic congestion at the Wurukum area.
