The Kogi State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Olumide Ebenezer Aletan, has called for stronger and sustained collaboration among security agencies in the state.
Commandant Aletan made the call during a courtesy visit to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, at the Force Headquarters, Lokoja.
He stressed that synergy among sister agencies remains vital in tackling crimes and strengthening the state’s overall security architecture.
Aletan commended the Police Commissioner for his remarkable efforts in crime fighting, describing them as hallmarks of effective leadership, while also appreciating the warm reception accorded him and his team.
The Commandant reaffirmed the commitment of both the NSCDC and the Police to their constitutional responsibilities of ensuring internal security and protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
He emphasized the need to direct more resources and energy toward crime prevention, urging security agencies always to leverage their collective strengths.
In his response, CP Dantawaye acknowledged the importance of inter-agency collaboration, noting that criminals do not distinguish between security outfits when carrying out unlawful acts.
Highlighting the state’s unique geographical location, which shares boundaries with nine states and the Federal Capital Territory, he stressed the necessity of regular meetings among security agencies to coordinate efforts and effectively combat crime across the state.
