Stakeholders from Nasarawa South Senatorial Zone have taken a collective decision to support whoever the State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, will bring as an aspirant for the 2027 Governorship Election in the state.
They decided that the APC zonal stakeholders’ Engagement Meeting Would Be held at the Government Lafia, the state Capital.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasarawa South Senatorial zone engagement meeting was to foster unity among members, make the party much stronger, and solicit support among APC stakeholders for the zone to produce the next Governor in the upcoming 2027 election in the State.
Addressing the APC stakeholders meeting, Governor Abdullahi Sule noted that he will not be distracted by the activities of some overambitious politicians who have ventured into premature campaigns in the state, even when INEC had not lifted the ban on campaigns, but assured that his administration would do everything possible to hand over to an APC Governor in the 2027 General election.
Chairman of the occasion and former Governor of the state, Senator Tanko Al Makura, who took time to examine the political journey of the State from 1999 to date, explained that there are no zoning arrangements but a gentleman’s agreement among stakeholders across the three Senatorial zones of the state.
Speakers at the event, including a member representing Awe Keana Doma federal constituency Hassan Na laraba, former federal lawmaker Joseph Haruna KIGBU, and former federal Permanent Secretary Dauda KIGBU reiterated that although citizens of the state have equal right to contest for the Governorship position but reiterated that, their loyalty and support to anyone chosen by the state Governor as the party’s candidate for 2027 journey must be total.
The state APC chairman, Doctor Aliyu Bello, called on electorates to go and obtain their PVCs, so as to enable them to vote for the candidates of their choice in the forthcoming general election
In an interview, former inspector General of police, Mohamed Adamu commended the decision of the state Governor and the party’s stakeholders for speaking with one voice towards bringing unity and harmonious coexistence to make the party wax stronger.
