The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Mohammad Kabir Maikarfi the Fourth, has called on the Kogi State Government and political leaders to increase their support and patronage for Radio Nigeria Prime FM.
The traditional ruler appealed when the General Manager of the station, Mr. Alfa Yakubu, led the management team on a courtesy visit to his palace in Lokoja.
Alhaji Kabir noted that greater government intervention would enable the station to effectively fulfill its mandate of serving the public.
He also urged the Federal Government to regulate the proliferation of media houses in the country, just as it had done in restricting the indiscriminate establishment of universities.
Pledging his cooperation with the station, the Maigari assured that the palace would continue to support Prime FM in its mission to inform, educate, and entertain the people.
Earlier, Mr. Yakubu explained that the visit was to pay homage to the Maigari and seek his blessings for the station’s operations.
He appealed to the royal father to use his influence in facilitating the relocation of Prime FM to Mount Patti, which would enhance its reach and coverage across the state.
The General Manager emphasized that as a federal government-owned station, Prime FM remained committed to partnering with individuals and organizations to promote development, unity, and the wellbeing of Nigerians.
