Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to leveraging sports as a tool for Youth empowerment and economic development.
The Governor stated this while unveiling the New Kits of both Nasarawa United and Amazons for the 2025 – 2026 Football season at the Government House in Lafia.
Governor Abdullahi Sule said he is happy with the current performance of Nasarawa United and the Management Team in the ongoing NPFL Football season, noting that his administration remains committed to promoting youth empowerment through sports.
The Governor commended the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Yakubu Kwanta, for his passion to deliver positive results in terms of youth and sports development with his management Team, pledging to reward all the individuals who made the State proud at various programmes across the country and worldwide recently.
He maintained that his administration would continue to provide an enabling environment to attract more investors into the State.
Earlier, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Yakubu Kwanta, who led the Management Team of the Two State-Owned Clubs, told the Governor that the New Jersey symbolises passion, dedication, and Unity that define their sporting spirit.
He appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for consistently creating a conducive environment for the growth and development of young people to become self-reliant, productive, and compete favourably with their counterparts around the world.
Highlights of the ceremony were the unveiling of the new kits of both Clubs for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier League Season; unveiling of the official kits for the 4th edition of the Governor AA Sule Inter-Security Agencies’ Unity Cup Football Tournament, 2025; presentation of a replica Super Falcons’ jersey by the Chairperson of Nasarawa Amazons FC, Hajiya Hussaina Suleiman Nagogo, and a plaque of appreciation by the ex-corps members to the Governor.
