Mrs. Jugbo commended the First Lady of the state, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, for championing women’s and children’s rights, and announced that start-up kits would be provided to participants to help improve their small businesses amidst the prevailing socio-economic challenges.
Also speaking, the Director of Nutrition, Ministry of Health, Mrs. Halima Yusuf, underscored the importance of Turnip brown, a nutrient-rich food, in boosting children’s immune systems.
In their goodwill messages, the Secretary of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, NSUBEB, and the President of the National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, Hajiya Hashiya Ahmed and Mrs. Mary Samuel Meshi, respectively, urged the women to put the knowledge acquired into practice for the betterment of their families and communities.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs. Patience Edemos and Mrs. Lami Afiku, expressed appreciation to the First Lady, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, and the Ministry of Women Affairs, for the opportunity, pledging to make judicious use of the training.
Highlights of the event included cash donations and an awareness session on the nutritional value of turnips brown for children.
