The National Assembly has vowed to use its resources, including legislative power, to support the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to reduce Corruption to the barest.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, Senator Emmanuel Udende, pledged to the Passing out Parade of 404 Detective Superintendents and Detective Inspectors Cadets of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja.
The event, which took place at the Nigeria Police Mobile Force Training College, Ende Hills, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, was attended by the State Governor, M r Abdullahi Sule, top Service Chiefs, Parents and relatives of the Graduands.
The EFCC, under the leadership of Mr Ola Olukoyede, has been receiving accolades and commendations for various Successes in the fight against Corruption.
To this end, the Commission has been recruiting young and dedicated Nigerians to strengthen its Manpower.
At the Passing out Parade of four hundred and four of the Detective Superintendent and Detective Inspector Cadets, now operatives of EFCC, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, Senator Emmanuel Udende pleaded maximum legislative framework to ensure the anti-graft recorded more successes.
“Despite the limited funding, the EFCC has been wining major Battles against Corruption. However, let me inform you on behalf of the Senate Committee on Anti Corruption and Financial Crimes, the National Assembly will ensure all necessary legislative frame work to do more” .Senator Udende vowed.
Similarly , his Counterpart in the House of Representatives, Mr Ginger Onwusibe, urged the new officials to uphold the virtues of integrity and Discipline.
The Nasarawa State Governor, Mr Abdullahi Sule, who applauded the Management and operatives of EFCC, advocated the establishment of a Special Court for the Trial of Corruption Cases.
On his part, the EFCC Chairman, Mr Ola Olukoyede, urged the recruits to maintain the Core Values of the Commission amidst daunting Challenges that might come their way in the line of duty.
Some Graduates, Abubakar Usman, Otti Otti, and Mary Adesola, described the six-month training as a memorable experience.
High points of the event were the March Past and the award Presentation to some Cadets for their outstanding Performances.
