The Kogi State Government has inaugurated the Sustainable Supply System Steering and Technical Committees to oversee the State Drugs and Medical Supplies Management Agency.
Speaking at the ceremony in Lokoja, the Commissioner for Health, Doctor. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, charged the committee members to demonstrate integrity and diligence in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He noted that the move reflects Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s commitment to advancing the state’s health sector, stressing that the committees are vital to strengthening the agency’s governance framework.

Doctor. Adeiza further highlighted the administration’s substantial investments in healthcare, describing the initiative as part of efforts to place health at the forefront of government priorities.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the agency, Mrs. Ibrahim Salamat Onize, said the committees were established to ensure a steady supply of quality and affordable drugs across public health facilities in the state.
She explained that their mandate would not only enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes but also promote best practices in drug and medical supplies management, setting a benchmark for other states in the federation.
Mrs. Onize described the inauguration as a significant milestone in the state’s quest for a more reliable and sustainable healthcare system.
