Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, says for Nigeria to achieve a robust and sustainable economy, every state of the federation must unlock its unique potentials to enhance economic prosperity.
Governor Sule stated this while speaking as a panelist at the joint session of the United Nations World Food Programme and the African Development Bank, organised on the sidelines of the Nigerian Economic Summit held in Abuja.
Highlighting major reforms in the state’s Mineral sub-sector, Governor Abdullahi Sule explained that the discovery of the high-quality lithium processing plant positioned his administration to issue an executive order to the state Assembly to ban the exportation of raw minerals, mandating investors in the mining sector to mine and process in the state.
The state Governor noted that the policy has yielded positive results with major foreign and local investors, including the largest lithium processing plant GANFENG, which has the capacity to produce 6000 metric tonnes of lithium far the day is ready for inauguration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He, however, stressed the need for stronger synergy between investments and human capital development, pointed out that the state had since entered into partnership with companies, as signature bonuses are used for training of the local workforce.
Contributing to the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi identified policy inconsistency as a strong bottleneck to the Nation’s economic growth and Development.
