The Plateau State Government has pledged its unwavering commitment to transforming the Judiciary in the State for effective justice delivery and the benefit of all citizens.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang gave the assurance at the Ground Breaking ceremony of the construction of the Ultra-Modern Ministry of Justice Office Complex, held at the State Secretariat, Jos.
Speaking before laying the foundation, Governor Caleb Mutfwang emphasized the need for the justice system to be properly strengthened to ensure fairness and accountability in society, adding that a functional justice system is a key parameter used by the international community in assessing nations for developmental support.
He therefore stressed the State Government’s commitment to improving not only infrastructure but the welfare of Judicial officers.
Mutfwang, who also used the occasion to announce an increment in the salary of street cleaners in the State by 90 percent, also promised to empower and equip women for a prosperous family and nationhood.
The Governor pledged to replicate the same developmental strides across various sectors in the State.
On his part, State Commissioner for Justice, Philemon Daffi, noted that the over six billion naira building project is a 21st-century edifice that will serve as a unified home and a one-stop shop for all the parastatals in the executive arm of government that administer justice for the people.
Earlier, State Head of Service, Stephen Gadong, while appreciating the Governor for his commitment to transforming the civil service, stated that such developments would help enhance the justice delivery system in the State.
In their separate goodwill messages, the State Grand Khadi, Justice Ibrahim Umar, and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Naanlong Danie,l all showered accolades on the Governor for his positive attitude towards the development of the State and pledged to provide all the necessary support to ensure all developmental projects across the country are supported and given legislative backing.
