Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has called on African countries to rise a above the challenges occasioned by imperialism and neocolonialism.
Governor Mutfwang stated this at the Frantz Fanon Centenary Conference held at the Faculty of social sciences, University of Jos.
The event was put together by Frantz Fanon in collaboration with the center for information technology and development and the University of Jos.
Governor Mutfwang, represented by the Special Adviser on Political Matters, Istifanus Mwansat enjoined the participants to proffer lasting solutions that will better the lives of People in Africa who are battling with issues related to exploitation and injustice.
In a goodwill message, the chairman of the occasion, Prof. Izongola NTalaja of the DR-Congo stressed the need to explore fanon’s relevant ideals through themes like identity, pan Africanism, gender, labour and Africa’s place in the global order.
The keynote speaker, Prof. Adele Jinadu, who is a leading voice on electoral reforms, federalism, and democratic governance in Africa, encouraged participants to emulate the legacies of Frantz Fanon, noting that, Africa and it’s people should maintain loyalty to constituted authority.
Participants at the conference are drawn Uganda , Jamaica, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana and others and were split into syndicate groups to deliberate and come out with presentation during the event.
