Fifty five kilometers of township roads in Gboko and the remodeling of Yandev Roundabout have been launched for reconstruction by the Benue State Government at the cost of sixty two billion naira.
Performing the exercise at the Lubonna Junction, Gboko to pave the way for the commencement of work, Governor Hyacinth Alia noted that the reconstruction of the roads was a deliberate move to ease human and vehicular movement in the Area.


While expressing appreciation to the Federal Government for the support and funding, which his administration has continued to receive, the Governor charged the Contractor to complete the project within the duration of five months to enable him to return for its inauguration within the stipulated time.
Governor Alia assured that he would be visiting the project quite often to monitor the progress of work and enjoined residents especially youths to take ownership of the project as well as cooperate with the contractor to deliver a good job.
Director Civil Engineering, Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development, Tivfa Wombo mentioned some of the roads to include New road to Bristow roundabout, Tor Tiv Palace, Union Roundabout, General Hospital, Fedetal Government Girls College, Tor Tiv Garden to Kontien to Mkar to Amaladu.
Chairman, Gboko Local Government Council, Elias Yina thanked the Government for taking its developmental drive to the Local Government, while the Contractor Engineer Jacob Momoh promised to deliver the project according to specifications.
