The Plateau Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency PEPSA on Saturday shut down Madam Calabar Restaurant and Calabar Restaurant at old airport junction in Jos due to unkept surroundings and poor sanitary conditions.

According to a statement, the closure was done during a monitoring exercise of the routine environmental sanitation across the state.
It adds that some minors were found working in one of the restaurants and The matter was promptly referred to the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Caroline Dafur, for appropriate action.

The agency reiterated that it will continue to enforce environmental standards and encouraged residents and business owners to maintain proper sanitation at all times – not just during the monthly exercise.

The agency through the statement reaffirmed it’s commitment to promoting a cleaner and healthier State.
