The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation (ILO), has identified entrepreneurial development as one of the most viable pathways for creating sustainable livelihoods and promoting inclusive economic growth.
State Controller of Labour, Mr. Yakubu Musa Madalla, stated this during the step-down training for youths under the Start and Improve Your Business programme in Lafia.
He emphasized that the Ministry remains committed to creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurship and decent work for all Nigerians.
Also speaking, the Nasarawa State Head of Service, Abigail Waya, noted that the initiative would empower residents to create jobs, improve livelihoods, and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
Represented by the Director of Housing and Labour Relations, Fatima Dauda, she urged participants to take full advantage of the training opportunity to enhance their wellbeing.
On his part, Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Simon Yakubu, advised youths not to depend solely on government but to uphold the values of hard work and apply the lessons learned.
