Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called for enhanced collaboration among communities to sustain peace and security across the state.
The governor made the appeal during a meeting with traditional rulers and key stakeholders from Lokoja Two Constituency, held in Lokoja.
Governor Ododo commended the royal fathers and community leaders for their continued support and cooperation with his administration’s security initiatives, noting that their role remains critical in maintaining stability.

He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to tackle all forms of criminality, stressing that the government will not negotiate with criminals under any circumstances.
The governor also urged residents to remain vigilant and refrain from actions capable of undermining security efforts, warning against shielding individuals involved in criminal activities.
On infrastructure, Governor Ododo assured the people that road development within the constituency remains a top priority.
He noted that key roads requested by communities would be addressed to enhance economic growth, particularly in agrarian areas.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Abdullahi Adamu, commended the governor for his unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of residents.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, the Maiyaki of Kupa Land, Dauda Isa, expressed appreciation to the governor for efforts in dislodging criminal elements from affected communities.
He also appealed for the reconstruction of the Jamata–Budan–Abugi–
Eggan road to improve accessibility and drive development in the area.
