Stakeholders of the National Association of Polytechnic Students, NAPS, in Nasarawa State have endorsed Comrade Ekom Peter Ayaka for the position of National President of the Association.
The endorsement was made during a meeting of stakeholders and Students Union Government, SUG, representatives in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

State Chairman of the NAPS Stakeholders, Mohammed Saad, explained that the decision was unanimous, citing Comrade Ayaka’s impressive track record as a former SUG President and in other key offices within the NAPS national structure.
Saad emphasized that stakeholders and students would rally behind Ayaka to secure his victory in the national election, describing him as a patriotic leader with the capacity to occupy the number one seat at the national level.
Zonal Coordinator of NAPS, North Central Zone, Comrade Ahmed Peter Hassan, praised Ayaka as a supportive, visionary, and God-fearing leader whose tenure united students across the zone. He expressed confidence that Ayaka would achieve even greater results if elected at the national level.
Former Director of Campus Affairs, Nasarawa State Students Association, NANS Zone C, and lecturer at IMAP Lafia, Comrade Achuku Theophilus, noted Ayaka’s dedication to student welfare and safety, often working tirelessly to address campus concerns. He urged stakeholders to give Ayaka their sincere support, describing him as the best candidate for the office of National President.

Former President of Nasarawa State Students Association, NANS and SUG representative of IMAP, Comrade Abimiku David, alongside Elizabeth David, highlighted the importance of youth leadership in shaping the nation’s future. They affirmed their support for Ayaka, stating that he is on the right path.
Earlier, the aspirant himself, Comrade Ekom Peter Ayaka, outlined his vision for NAPS, which includes empowering students, promoting unity, and ensuring accountability. He described NAPS as a respected advocacy group with a long history of influencing policy, fostering leadership training, and mentoring students.
Ayaka highlighted his achievements, including the promotion of pro-student policies, holding institutions and government accountable, establishing a functional and sustainable North Central executive, and leading campaigns against social vices in collaboration with schools and government agencies.
He formally declared his intention before stakeholders and SUG representatives to contest for the position of National President of NAPS at the upcoming 2026 National Convention.
Stakeholders and SUG representatives are drawn from all the Tertiary institutions within Lafia metropolis.
