The National Council on Health is the highest decision-making body on health policy uniting federal and state stakeholders in the health sector to set National health priorities and foster collaborations.
Inaugurating the various sub-committees at the state Ministry of Health in Lafia, the Commissioner for Health, Doctor Gaza Gwamna reiterated the importance of national health policy as a fulcrum of the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at repositioning the health sector in the right direction.
Doctor Gwamna urged the committee members to come up with ideas to ensure the successful hosting of the National Council on Health programme.
The Permanent Secretary, Nasarawa State Ministry of Health, Doctor Ibrahim Alhassan, who rolled out the terms of reference to the different committees, expressed appreciation to the state Governor, Abdullahi Sule, for accepting to host the national health conference in November
In an acceptance speech on behalf of the committee members, the Chief Medical Director, Hospital Management Board, Doctor Egdego Egba thanked the state government for finding them worthy to serve in the various committees
Doctor Egba expressed optimism that the committee would work assiduously to ensure a hitch free hosting of the National Council on Health conference in the state.
