Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has met with stakeholders from Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, where he outlined his administration’s efforts on infrastructure development and security.
In the meeting, Governor AbdulRazaq explained that his government is working closely with the Office of the National Security Adviser and all security agencies to dismantle criminal networks in Ifelodun, Patigi, Edu, and other affected areas.
He warned against exaggerated reports on insecurity, saying such could discourage investment and development in the state.
The Governor listed several projects in Ifelodun, including the Ajase-Ipo to Oke Ode–Sagbe road, Alabe–Oreke road, Oro Ago road, Ora township road, Orisa bridge, and the proposed Akamo bridge.
He also commended the ICT Centre in Igbaja, describing it as a model of community-driven development.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq assured the delegation that his administration remains committed to eliminating threats and sustaining development, while urging citizens to project their communities positively to attract more investments.
The Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Haji Femi Yusuf, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, praised the Governor’s proactive approach to security and his many development initiatives.
Haji Femi Yusuf said that the government’s multi-layered strategies had restored peace and boosted public confidence.
Also speaking, a former member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Kola Yusuf, and Elder Oyin Zubair thanked the Governor for his efforts and called for more support for victims of recent security incidents, while urging that the criminals be brought to justice.
Recently, some communities in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, including Babanla, were attacked by gunmen, killing some people, injuring others, and kidnapping some residents.
The stakeholders, led by the Council Chairman, Haji Femi Yusuf, included traditional rulers, clerics, politicians, youth leaders, and other community representatives.
