In a strategic initiative to unlock Plateau State’s rich potential in tourism, culture, and the creative economy, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has engaged in high-level discussions with Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa-Musawa.
The meeting, held in Brasilia, Brazil, on the sidelines of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit, aimed to forge a strong partnership between the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy and Plateau State.
According to a statement, the partnership seeks to drive creative growth, preserve cultural heritage, and promote economic diversification.
During the meeting, Governor Mutfwang articulated his ambitious plan to transform Plateau State into a leading destination for cultural tourism and creative enterprise in Nigeria.
The proposed strategies included reactivating the Plateau State Tourism Master Plan, rejuvenating key heritage sites, and establishing a Tourism Free Trade Zone.
The meeting also highlighted plans to renew the Jos Wildlife Park and develop a Creative Industry Development Plan tailored to Plateau State’s needs.
Governor Mutfwang applauded the Minister for her commitment to improving the sector and reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to harness Plateau’s rich cultural heritage and creative talent to boost tourism, generate employment, and attract investment.
The Minister praised Governor Mutfwang’s initiative, recognizing Plateau’s cultural importance, and vowed to provide full support.
The Minister pledged to mobilize federal resources and provide institutional support to enhance Plateau State’s creative ecosystem and heritage infrastructure.
