The Nigerian Army has denied allegations of complicity in it’s operations.
The Commander JTF-Operation Enduring Peace and General Officer Commanding, 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Eyitayo Oyinlola made this known during a Town Hall Meeting on the Launch of the National Programme of the Five Thematic Areas of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, in Jos, Plateau State.
The programme is designed to strengthen national consciousness and public engagement through five thematic Areas which include National Values Reorientation for Students of Secondary and Tertiary Institutions against “Sign out Extreme Practices”, National Campaign on Flood Mitigation, National Enlightenment Campaign on Government Policies, Programmes and Activities, Nigerian Identity Project and National Symbols Campaign, National Security Awareness Sensitization Campaign for improved community security consciousness.
Major General Oyinlola explained that Operation enduring Peace is a Joint operation of the Army in synergy with other sister security agencies stressing that it remains unbiased and committed to the safety of every citizen.
The GOC represented by the Media Information Officer, JTF- Operation Enduring Peace Major Samson Zhakom called on stakeholders to educate their communities on the need to always provide credible, accurate and timely intelligence to security agencies while also cautioning against harbouring Criminals.
Also speaking the Plateau State Commissioner for Education Kacholom Gang announced plans to abolish extreme graduation sign out practices due to inappropriate activities often associated with it.
The Commissioner, represented by the Director Planning,Research and Statistics, Peter Maktu who explained that the decision was made during a stakeholders ‘engagement on education also announced a ban on Nursery, basic and junior secondary graduation celebrations as well as other major resolutions.
The State Manager NIMET Mr Tanko Kafanchang urged people in Plateau state to pay attention to NIMET’s predictions to plan their farms and to take precaution against flooding .
Earlier the Director General of the NOA Mallam Larne ISSA Onili emphasized the committment of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration to the wellbeing of every Nigerian through value orientation and the effective implementation of government policies, programmes, and activities.

The stakeholders’ meeting drew participants from security agencies, religions and traditional institution, student bodies among others.
