The Controller-General of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS), Ibrahim Omeiza Sani, has reaffirmed the command’s zero tolerance for criminal activities in the state.
Sani stated this while confirming the rescue of some kidnapped victims by operatives of the Service at Aku village, along the Okene–Lokoja Federal Highway in Adavi Local Government Area.
According to him, suspected armed Fulani bandits, dressed in military camouflage, had attacked an 18-seater Toyota bus with registration number Benue DAP 325 LG.
He said the swift intervention of the KSVS Osara Command foiled the attack, leading to the rescue of the driver and three passengers.
He, however, noted that a bystander lost his life after being hit by a stray bullet during the gun duel, even as efforts are ongoing to track down fleeing suspects and secure the release of other abducted victims.
The Controller-General commended his men for their gallantry and praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his unwavering commitment to making security a priority in every part of the state.
Sani also lauded the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), for his consistent support and collaboration with the Vigilante Service in ensuring a safer Kogi State.
