The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has sued for partnership with Radio Nigeria Harvest FM to sensitize the public against drug trafficking and effects of drug abuse in Benue State.
The new State NDLEA Commander, Mustapha Tajudeen, made the appeal when he led management staff of the command to pay a courtesy call on the General Manager, Harvest FM, Mr Shimataver Aondoakaa at the broadcasting station, Abiem.
Mr. Tajudeen stated that the partnership with the station would enable the Agency to carry out advocacy and sensitization about the dangers of drug peddling and consumption.
He emphasized that, abuse of illicit substances is a serious problem that has affected every facets of the society irrespective of tribe, religion, economic status or professional background, hence the need to seek collaboration with the media to drive the process and encouraged families whose children and wards are victims to bring them for counseling and rehabilitation.
General Manager of Harvest FM, Mr Shimataver Aondoakaa assured of the readiness of the station to avail the NDLEA the needed support to enable them achieve success.
Mr Aondoakaa who noted the increase in cases of drug abuse in the state said Harvest FM is ready to work with relevant agencies to win the fight against the menace.
