The need for Government to harmonize and adopt good Policy implementation strategies in order to check mate the incessant level of insecurity bedeviling the country has been stressed.
This was the submission of the Secretary to the Federal Government, SGF, when he declared open the 2025 Second Quarter Meeting of the Forum of Secretary to the Government of the Federation with Secretaries to the Government of the State, SGS, held in Jos the Plateau State Capital.
Declaring the session open, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF George Akume who applauded Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his relentless efforts in transforming the State, expressed optimism that the meeting would create opportunities for them to examine their role and brain storm on how to promote good governance and development in the states.

Akume noted that to curb the security challenges confronting the nation, it has become paramount for the forum to harmonize its policy implementation strategies.
The SGF therefore urged them to remain dedicated and in tune with modern methods of record keeping, transparency, ensure excellence and balanced style of government.
In an address, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, said the consultative session was critical to the development of their various states serving as a melting point in the country’s progress.

Mutfwang stated that the appointment of Five Permanent Secretaries in the SGF office alone, buttresses the important role the SGS office plays in spinning the wheel of governance.
The Governor charged them to carry out their duties with all sense of dedication, sincerity and transparency.

Earlier in an address, the keynote speaker, Professor Sam Egwu, described the forum as a high profile gathering of individuals tasked with the responsibility of networking inter-Governmental relations in respect to true Federalism.
He emphasized the need for them to fully collaborate in policy formation and coordination for proper delivery.
Professor Egwu urged the SGS to acknowledge the adoption of their role in the Presidential system of government, serving as a framework for their responsibilities.
Plateau State Secretary to the Government, SGS Samuel Jatau, welcomed the SGSs to the State and prayed for fruitful deliberation.
The 2nd session of the forum has the theme: Understanding the Dynamics on the Roles and Functions of SGF and SGS.
