Nasarawa State government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women’s welfare, empowerment and recognizing their significant contributions to nation-building.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Humanitarian Services, Hauwa Samuel Jugbo made the statement at the food fair and skills acquisition event of National Council for Women Societies, NCWS in Lafia the Nasarawa State Capital.
According to Commissioner Jugbo, the state government has remained resolute in supporting women with empowerment initiatives, urging them to take advantage of government programs designed to enhance their development, promising to continue to prioritize women’s welfare.

Addressing the women, Member representating Nasarawa Central at the state house of assembly, Hajara Danyaro and the Majority Leader of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hajiya Munirah Suleiman Tanimu advised women to always support one another and contest elective positions in the twenty -twenty seven general elections.
Also, Nasarawa State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Isaac Danladi and the Chairman, Karu Local government Council, Abubakar Aliyu Madaki gave an assurance to protect the rights of women against gender based violence.
The President, National Council for Women Societies in Nasarawa State, Mrs Mary Samuel Meshi earlier, explained that the event was to showcase women’s culinary skills, traditional dishes of people of the state and promote entrepreneurship to foster economic independence.

The event which drew women groups from the thirteen Local Government Areas of the state featured launching of NCWS Magazine and skills acquisition training.
