Over one thousand, two hundred medical consultations have been carried out by the Benue State Primary Health Care Board at the Abagena Internally Displaced Persons IDPs, camp, Makurdi, clinic in three months.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Mrs. Grace Ashi-Wende who stated this during the Integrated Supportive Supervision, ISS, the camp, also said two hundred and eighty pregnant women attended Ante Natal Care during the same period.
Mrs. Ashi-Wende explained that the major ailments that were treated at the camp include peptic ulcers, cholera, malaria and Urinary Tract Infections.
She appreciated Governor Hyacinth Alia and UNICEF for the financial assistance which enabled them to position adhoc staff in the camp to take care of the health needs of the vulnerable people.
Director Disease Control, Benue State Primary Health Care Board, Dr Austin Adanu stated that a Doctor, Nurse, Community health worker, Laboratory attendant, pharmacy attendant, Clinic assistant and data assistant were on ground across the local government areas that take care of the IDPs.
