The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has called for sustained collaboration between security agencies and Local Government Chairmen to strengthen the fight against crimes and enhance public safety.
He made the call during a strategic security meeting held at the Police Command Headquarters in Lokoja, describing it as part of the Command’s renewed drive to improve security operations across the State.
The Commissioner stressed that effective intelligence sharing and inter-agency cooperation remain vital to tackling security challenges, stressing that community policing efforts would be scaled up to boost public confidence and participation.

CP Kankarofi commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his unwavering support to security agencies, particularly in the provision of logistics and fostering cooperation.
Delivering the keynote address, the State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara (Retired), underscored the importance of synergy in achieving sustainable peace.
He praised the initiative and recommended that such strategic engagements be held quarterly with action-driven security agendas to sustain progress and enhance operational efficiency.
The meeting had in attendance the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Aletan Olumide Ebenezer; Mr. Peter Okon, Assistant Director representing the DSS; CG of Kogi State Vigilante Service, Mr. Omeiza Sani; ALGON Chairman, Hon. Tosin Olokun; Executive Chairman of Yagba West; as well as the 17 Local Government Chairmen, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers.
In his closing remarks, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Christopher Bassey, applauded participants for their dedication and commitment to securing the State.
