Two hundred and fifty Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) in Kogi State have received business capitalization grants of two hundred thousand naira each from the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
The Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, made this known at the Government House, Lokoja, during an event marking the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Senator Tinubu who was represented by the wife of Kogi state governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo emphasized the need for stronger national commitment toward empowering Persons with Disabilities across the country.

She explained that the Renewed Hope Initiative was extending the two hundred thousand naira business support grants to 250 beneficiaries in every state and the Federal Capital Territory to help small business owners recapitalize their ventures and improve their livelihoods.
She encouraged the beneficiaries to use the funds wisely, describing the grant as a seed that should grow into sustainable income.
The Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs, Mallam Nazeem Yakub, commended the initiative, describing it as a compassionate gesture by Senator Tinubu aimed at putting smiles on the faces of PLWDs.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Idris Suleiman appreciated Senator Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Initiative for the support, noting that the gesture was particularly significant given the economic challenges facing the country.
