Two hundred students in Plateau State have been offered scholarships to study various professional courses at Sanskaran University, New Delhi, India.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang bid the students farewell at an event held at the National Youth Centre, Shere Hills, Gwanfan, Jos Noth Local Government Area.
Governor Mutfwang congratulated the beneficiaries on successfully navigating the rigorous, transparent, and fair selection process.

He urged them to be diligent in their studies and avoid engaging in social vices
He promised to make their stay in India worthwhile and challenged them to devote themselves to excellence as the State and the nation look forward to their safe return to add their quota to the development of the State.
The Governor used the occasion to announce that a special fund has been allocated in the States’ budget to assist students in their studies and research.

State Commissioner for Education, Kachallom Gang, stated that the ministry followed a strict selection process for the professional courses and appreciated the Governor’s landmark achievement.
She added that the initiatives were part of a strategic move towards improving human capital development and called on the students to cultivate the habit of excellence and to ensure they carry with them the Plateau spirit.
In their separate goodwill messages, Commandant of the NDLEA, State Commandant of immigration, Cordinator of the Peace House, the Ujah Anaguta and representatives of the benefiting parents, all expressed satisfaction with the development, urging them to be good ambassadors of the State.

Highpoints of the event was the symbolic presentation of an international passport to three of the students, representing each of the three zones of the State.
