In furtherance of its humanitarian efforts to alleviate the challenges faced by vulnerable groups, the Ohunene Empowerment Initiative (OEI) has donated five wheelchairs to the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, alongside seven additional wheelchairs and cash gifts to selected patients.
Presenting the items, the founder of OEI and Wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajiya Sefinat Usman Ododo, said the gesture was aimed at improving access to healthcare and enhancing mobility for patients within the hospital.
Represented by the Wife of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Princess Karimat Abdullahi, Mrs. Ododo emphasized the importance of inclusive support for vulnerable persons, noting that such interventions are essential in enabling them to live dignified and productive lives.

She reaffirmed the commitment of the Ohunene Empowerment Initiative to sustaining humanitarian programmes that address the needs of vulnerable individuals across Kogi State.
Responding on behalf of the hospital, the Acting Chief Medical Director of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Doctor. Oluseyi Bamidele Folagbade, expressed appreciation to the Wife of the Governor for what he described as a timely and laudable intervention.
Doctor. Folagbade noted that the donated wheelchairs would significantly enhance patient mobility services in the hospital and assured that the items would be properly utilized and maintained.
He further reiterated the hospital’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare services to patients and residents of the state.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the Ohunene Empowerment Initiative for the gesture and offered prayers for the continued success of the First Lady, her family, and the Ododo-led administration.
