The Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, PSIRS, has announced a revenue projection of over sixty-four billion naira for the 2026 fiscal year.
This was made known by the Chairman of the Service, Dr. Jim Pam Wayas, during a press conference in Jos, plateau state
Reeling out the scorecard of internally generated revenue for 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, the PSIRS Chairman maintained that the Service has recorded exponential growth in its revenue target performance, rising from 71 percent in 2022 to 94 percent in 2025.

He explained that Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, exceeded their revenue target by over 100% in 2023, but saw a decline in revenue performance in 2025 at 69%.
Dr. Wayas also noted that 2025 marked the first time the Service successfully met its revenue target, attributing the achievement to the cooperation of taxpayers and the diligence of the service.

He further stated that PSIRS has fully automated its revenue collection system with no cash transactions, eliminating leakages and improving transparency, adding that Plateau is among the eight states in Nigeria recognized for operating a zero cash collection policy.
Dr Wayas also reiterated that the new tax reform would benefit tax payers one of such benefits is the Rent relief allowance and the capital gain tax designed to align with income tax rates leading to zero tax for those in the zero tax net rate bracket .
