The Nigerian Army says it will continue to employ both kinetic and non Kinetic lines of operation to safeguard lives and property within the joint Area.
The General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander Operation Enduring Peace, major General Eyitayo Oyinlola stated this during a stakeholders engagement to consolidate on the security gains made during yuletide season and preparation towards successful farming season in Jos south and Riyom local Government Areas.

Riyom and parts of Jos south Local Government Areas in the past witnessed incessant attacks and herders/farmers clashes which resulted to loss of lives and property.
The stakeholders meeting which brought together youth leaders, traditional rulers and Ardors and civil society groups was aimed at fashioning out practical modalities for peaceful coexistence, particularly as the farming season approaches.

The GOC 3 Div and Commander Operation Enduring Peace, Major General Eyitayo Oyinlola explained that the stakeholders engagement was to sustain dialogue, deliberate on conflict mitigation efforts and to set aside differences for the development of the state and the Country.

The GOC emphasized the importance of strengthening community based conflict resolution mechanism by the stakeholders and encouraged them to jointly develop and enforce a community driven code of conduct for peaceful coexistence.
Special Adviser to Governor Caleb Mutfwang Retired Brigadier General shipi who was represented by Chief Supretendent of Police, Dannis David commended the Commander sector 6 colonel Malgwi and the GOC for organising the dialogue, stressing that security is everybody’s business hence the need to always be Vigilant.
He assured that the security would do it’s best to ensure a peaceful farming season.
His Royal Highness, Dagwom Rwei of Jos south who was represented by Da Jonathan Dangyang and a Hausa Community leader in Riyom, Ibrahim Adamu said the meeting was timely considering the incessant attacks and killings going on in the areas.
They advocated for peaceful coexistence among their people.

There were goodwill messages by the Chairman of Jos south and Riyom local Government Areas.

Highpoint of the event was the distribution of fertilizer in preparation for the farming season.
