The Kogi State Ministry of Works has reaffirmed its commitment to quality road infrastructure and strict project monitoring across the state as part of efforts to drive infrastructural transformation under the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The Commissioner for Works, Abdulsalami Ozigi Deedat, stated this during an intensive supervision tour of ongoing road and infrastructure projects across parts of the state.Leading a team of engineers to various project sites, the commissioner expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far.
He charged the contractors to ensure timely completion of all projects in line with approved standards.Mr Deedat emphasized that the ministry would not compromise on its mandate of ensuring proper maintenance and delivery of quality road infrastructure for the benefit of residents across the state.

According to him, supervision and monitoring remain critical responsibilities of the ministry to ensure contractors comply with specifications and standards approved for each project.He noted that one of the core obligations of the ministry is the monitoring and evaluation of projects as well as assessing the progress of work being executed in the state.
He commended the contractors for the progress recorded so far and urged them to complete the projects within the stipulated timeframe.
Responding, some of the contractors handling the projects commended the commissioner for his leadership and commitment towards ensuring quality project delivery across the state and assured the government of their readiness to deliver the projects according to the ministry’s specifications and standards.
Some of the project sites visited during the supervision exercise included the Okaito Junction to Omavi Road in Okehi Local Government Area, the Obagende/Okaito Road Project, Hajiya Ladi Ibrahim and Alhaji Hadi Ameuto Street, as well as the Ikaraworo/Obeito to Onusaba Street project in Adavi Local Government Area, among others.
