Entrepreneurs and young innovators have been urged to embrace artificial intelligence as a catalyst for business growth, innovation and economic transformation.
The call was made by the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, at the opening of the Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency PLASMIDA AI Skills Activation Pilot Training for MSMEs, youths, entrepreneurs and staff of the agency.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who said his administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, stressed the need for participants to take full advantage of the training.
The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Mr. Samuel Jatau, urged young people to embrace emerging technologies to drive innovation, improve productivity and expand their businesses.
Earlier, in an address of welcome, the Director General of PLASMIDA,Mr. Bomkam Wuyep, described artificial intelligence as an indispensable tool in today’s global economy,noting economies that will thrive in the coming years are those whose people possess the skills to harness AI effectively and responsibly.

Chairman of the Plateau State Youth Council, Dr. Panan Dapar commended PLASMIDA for its youth-focused empowerment initiatives, saying the AI Closing the Gap training would further strengthen entrepreneurship and equip young people in the state with relevant digital skills.
One of the mentors and partners supporting Innovation Network Enterprise SHINE Mrs. Abigail Bugama, expressed confidence that the initiative would create more opportunities for young people and nurture future leaders.

Some participants,Awin Daniel and Nenpinwa Beji Expressed optimism that the training would equip them with practical knowledge to improve their businesses and careers.
The practical training sessions were facilitated by one of Nigeria’s leading financial technology firms, Prime Point Services Limited, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Donald Nsofor, who guided participants on the application of artificial intelligence tools for business growth and innovation.
