Plateau State Government has signed contract for the rehabilitation of Yakubu Gowon and Laminga treatment Plant.
At the event, secretary to the government of the state, Architect Samuel Jatau said the project which costs over 13 billion naira is geared towards making life better for Plateau residents.

The rehabilitation of Yakubu Gowon and Laminga treatment plant is a project under the plateau state urban water supply project assisted by French Development Agency, AFD.
Architect Jatau said providing water to plateau citizens remains key under the leadership of Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

He noted that when work commences, the value chain will be beneficial to residents who would secure jobs amongst other benefits.
The Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, Mr Bashir Datti appreciated government for giving water sector the needed attention and pledged the ministry’s resolve to monitor the work to ensure the contractors deliver on the job.
The Managing Director of Jos Water Services Corporation,Engineer Apollos Samchi who gave an overview of the project said prompt payment of counterpart funds by government facilitated the project implementation.
In a remark the contractor, China Geo Engineering Corporation, Ke You Cheng promised to deliver quality job at the stipulated time.
Highlights of the event was the signing of the contract by both parties and a goodwill message by technical adviser to the plateau state governor on water Dr Jurbe Godep.
